This is an all-day event that will start at 8:30 a.m. and last till 2:30 p.m. on the Dickinson State University campus. This event is for the first 200 sixth or seventh grade students in Dickinson and surrounding areas.
Participants will tackle financial responsibilities of learning life’s lessons. There is no registration fee required but attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods which will be donated to the AMEN Food Pantry. Students will be divided up into five groups to be taught the basic concepts of the “Real World.”
In the afternoon session, students will have a chance to apply the skills they learned in the morning as they make decisions in simulated everyday living in the “Real World City.” Having financial skills is vital for a successful and prosperous life not matter what you age is.
This hands-on life experience promotes financial literacy and is supported with funding from the Bank of North Dakota College Planning Center, volunteers and community leaders .
