Joint concert to be held this weekend
DICKINSON, N.D. –The Dickinson State University Concert Band, Dickinson City Band, and Dickinson Strings will perform in concert together on Sun., Apr. 27, at 4 p.m. in DSU’s Stickney Auditorium in May Hall.
Priscilla Keogh and DSU music professor Jimmy Leach will be conducting. The combined bands will perform Haydn’s Toy Symphony, Grainger’s Ye Banks and Braes O’ Bonnie Doon, Hanssen’s Valdres, and Clarinet Polka, featuring Jeremy Wohletz, DSU music professor.
The Dickinson Strings will perform Barber’s Adagio for Strings, the first movement of Bach’s Brandeburg Concerto #3, and Respighi's Ancient Aires and Dances. Combining all of the strings, winds, and percussion, the combined groups will perform Johann Strauss’s Radetzky March, selections from the musical Les Misérables, and themes from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade.
Admission to the concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.
