DICKINSON – Five new degrees are available through Dickinson State University’s (DSU) distance learning campus in Bismarck starting this fall.

Students can now earn Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education, including Choral Music, Instrumental and Composite Music, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music. A Bachelor’s in Business Education is also offered this year. Classes are available at DSU’s satellite campus at Bismarck State College (BSC) in Bismarck.

Chris Heringer, director of DSU programming in Bismarck and Williston, said the new degrees are a good option for students earning two-year degrees at BSC.

“Music and business education students now can stay in Bismarck to complete their four-year degrees,” said Heringer. “This is another valuable collaborative effort between DSU and BSC. As the state of North Dakota continues to struggle in filling key teaching positions, DSU graduates are well equipped to meet those challenges and succeed in business and as educators, musicians and mentors.”

Since1998, DSU course offerings have grown in Bismarck to now include 21 degrees and one certificate, with six of the degree programs online. Five faculty members with support from the DSU main campus in Dickinson and adjunct faculty provide an array of classes to nontraditional students in the daytime, evening and online in small classroom settings.

DSU Bismarck students are assigned a personal academic advisor, and are provided student support and services in Bismarck. For information, contact Heringer at (701) 224-5631 or visit www.dsublue.com.
