1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Larry Anderson, Talent Coordinator for the North Dakota Department of Commerce will share statewide initiatives to attract and retain talented employees. A panel of local leaders and human resource professionals will provide tips for recruiting and retaining talented workforce and well as strategies for becoming an employer of choice. A challenge exists for many businesses in southwest North Dakota - recruiting and retaining talented workers. For the February Strom Conference event, Larry Anderson, Talent Coordinator for the North Dakota Department of Commerce Workforce Development division, will share statewide initiatives being developed to address this workforce concern. Attendees will also have the chance to collect ideas and tips from a panel of local leaders and human resource professionals for recruiting and retaining employees. Keynote Speaker, Larry Anderson, is responsible for helping develop a single statewide plan for workforce development, workforce training, and talent attraction to support an integrated approach to workforce development in the state. Prior to this assignment, Anderson was the Director of the Office of Workforce and Unemployment Insurance Programs at Job Service North Dakota and has been involved in workforce and unemployment insurance serving employers and job seekers of ND for the past 30 years. Anderson is currently the president of the ND chapter of the International Association of Workforce Professionals and a member of the State Workforce Development Youth Council.
