Dr. Richard McCallum, President of Dickinson State University, announced today that Tim Daniel will be the interim director of athletics. Daniel replaces Roger Ternes who resigned to take another position in River Falls, Wis.
Daniel, assistant professor of health and physical education, head golf coach and assistant basketball coach, will begin serving as interim director of athletics effective today. Daniel also will continue teaching and coaching.
“I am honored that Dr. McCallum has chosen me for the position,” Daniel said. “I am excited to be working with him and the coaching staff. I look forward to the many opportunities that await the Department of Athletics over the next year.”
This fall, when DSU faculty members return to campus, the university will organize and launch a national search for the position, with the goal of successfully filling the position by July 1, 2011.
“I am delighted that Mr. Daniel has accepted the additional duties as interim athletic director,” said McCallum. “I look forward to working with him as we advance our commitment to excellence within our athletic program.”
