Additional Information

Being a Materials Chemist, Dr. Ogawa teaches a variety of chemistry courses including inorganic chemistry and organic chemistry at Dickinson State University. His main research interests include 1) phosphole/Pt-acetylide based 2-dimensional conjugated polymers and 2) fluorometric chemosensor for biologically active small molecules and ions.

After getting his Ph.D. at NDSU under Dr. Seth Rasmussen's supervision, Dr. Ogawa became a postdoctoral research associate at University of Florida under Dr. Kirk Schanze supervision. While in Florida, he was in charge of Materials Chemistry Characterization Laboratory. Prior to his current appointment as an associate professor of chemistry at DSU, he was appointed as an assistant professor at California State University Northridge and Minnesota State University Mankato.
