College of Arts and Sciences
Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences at Dickinson State University. The College serves the University by providing high quality, accessible programs of study, promoting excellence in teaching and learning, and supporting scholarly and creative activities. We have roughly 400 students enrolled in 38 different major programs. The faculty members of those programs are committed to helping students build the competencies needed for professional life and personal fulfillment. They are eager to work one-on-one with you and provide the necessary advising and mentoring for your successful completion of an undergraduate degree. Highly qualified and active in their disciplines, three quarters of our full-time faculty hold Ph.D. degrees. They contribute original research in publications of books and articles and presentations at national conferences.
In addition to major programs, the College of Arts and Sciences takes the lead in delivering general education requirements that familiarize students with the breadth of human knowledge and build the basic skills and dispositions needed for life-long learning. We also offer exciting co-curricular and extra-curricular experiences in the arts, the humanities, the various sciences, and mathematics.
