Indoor and Outdoor Arena Use
The Dickinson State University indoor and outdoor arenas are primarily used for the DSU Mens and Womens Rodeo Teams. The teams are very competitive regionally and use the arenas to practice and hone their skills so they can be competitive on the national level, too. The arenas are available for public use on a limited basis. Please see the Arena Use Schedule for more information.
Arena Use Forms and Regulations
Any individual desiring to use the DSU Indoor or Outdoor Arenas MUST complete an informational form and a waiver of liability form before being allowed to use the facilities.
Per North Dakota Law, any rider in the indoor or outdoor arenas must be given the following two documents:
- DSU Public Use of Indoor/Outdoor Arena - Horseback Riding Operating Procedures
- North Dakota Century Code Chapter 53-10 - Equine Activity Sponsor or Professional
Any rider needs to complete the following documents before being allowed to ride in the indoor or outdoor arenas. These documents are kept on file with the DSU Department of Agriculture and Technical Studies.

Arena Use Fees
The fees for using the DSU Indoor or Outdoor Arenas are $5.00/day/horse. The fees must be paid to the DSU Department of Agriculture and Technical Studies office prior to riding. The DSU Department of Agriculture and Technical Studies is located adjacent to the DSU Indoor Arena. The address is 400 State Ave. in Dickinson.
