Objectives


  • To train students to teach mathematics in the elementary and secondary schools and computer science in the secondary schools.
  • To provide training for computer science and mathematics students who plan careers in government, business or industry.
  • To enable students to study for cultural value and for credit toward liberal arts degrees.
  • To cooperate with other departments in providing courses which give students a working knowledge of important principles that will best prepare them for teaching and other careers in mathematics and computer science.
  • To enable students to acquire the academic knowledge in mathematics and computer science so they are qualified to enter graduate school.
