 Global Awareness Tuition Waiver 

The Dickinson State University Global Awareness Tuition Waiver Program provides substantial tuition assistance for qualified and dedicated international students who desire to study at a progressive, student-centered American university.

 The DSU Global Awareness Tuition Award is a renewable waiver which covers up to 53% of your annual tuition costs. 

 Scholarship Requirements  

 Only students admitted to Dickinson State University will be eligible to apply for the waiver.  To be considered, you must meet the following conditions:

 

  •  TOEFL Score of 71 or higher on the internet version, IELTS 5.5 or higher.
  •  Completion of Secondary School

Part of the application process is for students to answer three questions and submit a 250-word essay describing how an American education at Dickinson State University will impact their career aspirations. 

 Cultural Diversity Tuition Waiver (Must be a U.S. citizen)

Recognizing the educational benefit of a culturally diverse student population, the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education policy 820.8 allows for adoption of a tuition award program at Dickinson State University.  Special emphasis of this policy is to recruit, assist and retain enrolled members of federally recognized American Indian Tribes and Alaska Natives and Villages, graduates of tribally controlled community colleges in North Dakota, and economically disadvantaged students.

 Qualified students can receive substantial tuition assistance (up to 100%).  To be eligible, applicants must meet one of the following definitions for eligibility.

 

  1. Enrolled members of federally-recognized American Indian Tribes and Alaska Natives and Villages as defined pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act and as much constitute a political group officially recognized by the United States Government.
  2. Members of a cultural, racial, or ethnic group which has been historically under-represented, such as African Americans, American Indians, Asian Americans, and Latin Americans.
  3. Individuals who are economically disadvantaged and whose total family contribution will not exceed 25 percent of North Dakota resident tuition of the previous year, based upon the federally prescribed needs analysis formula

 Tuition Incentive Programs 

Students from certain states can also qualify for out-of-state tuition waivers, reducing your overall tuition expenses.
