Student Support Services
Native American & Multicultural Student Support Services
The Center for Multicultural Affairs strives to provide culturally competent student services designed to support and enhance the academic and personal success of Native American and historically underrepresented populations, including African-American, Latino-American, Asian-American, and students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The Center serves as a vital link between students and the University, working to develop sensitivity to, awareness of, and appreciation for cultures among students and staff.
Our aim is to promote increased interaction and cross-cultural understanding throughout the DSU community. Services available to Native American and historically underrepresented students in higher education include:
- academic advising
- financial aid counseling
- retention and transition support.
International Students Support Services
Currently, there are over 400 international students and scholars representing over 30 different countries enrolled at DSU. Although their reasons for coming to DSU may vary, their reason for staying is primarily the same: at DSU students get the support they need to succeed. The staff of the Center for Multicultural Affairs is committed to helping students through every stage of their academic career, including admissions.
