Overall excellence leads to significant results
Enrollment trends tell only a part of Dickinson State University’s success story. Student outcomes as a result of quality education are another important facet. The following facts and charts illustrate both the increasing attractiveness of DSU for international and out-of-state students as well as the impact a DSU education is having on the university’s graduates and the state of North Dakota.

- The Dickinson State University 2005-06 Placement Report indicates that 98.7 percent of last year’s graduates are either employed or pursuing additional education, compared to 97.8 percent in 2004-05.
- While the number of graduates remaining in North Dakota increased one percent, from 76 percent to 77 percent, non-resident graduates employed in the state was 59 percent.
- The percentage of DSU graduates enrolled in a graduate program increased two percent over last year, from 14 percent to 16 percent. In addition, 61 percent of those who received associate’s degrees are working toward bachelor’s degrees at DSU. This is a14 percent increase over last year.
- 76 percent of the graduates who are employed have found work in their major field.
