Financial aid information sessions offered
Sandy Klein, director of financial aid at Dickinson State University, will present a series of financial aid information sessions entitled “Getting it Right the First Time (Step-by-Step, How to Complete the FAFSA).” Klein will hold the workshops at various locations throughout the region in person or on interactive television (ITV).
These sessions are designed to assist prospective students and their parents, as well as returning students, with the financial aid application process. Topics to be covered include application deadline changes, tax information, and sources for available grants, scholarships and loans. Klein will give step-by-step instructions for filling out the Free Application For Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA).
A drawing for at least one nonrenewable, one-year, $250 scholarship to be used at a North Dakota college or university will be held in March 2009. The scholarship will be co-payable to the student and college or school. It will be awarded to people who have attended a North Dakota Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators sponsored event before the March 1 deadline.
Klein recommends the following websites to obtain financial aid and scholarship information: www.fafsa.ed.gov, www.pin.ed.gov, www.collegegold.com and www.college-scholarships.com.
