Choral Ensembles 

The choral ensembles at Dickinson State University consist of the Chorale and Chamber Singers which are conducted by Dr. Brent Rogers.


Chorale 2011


The Chorale is the primary choral ensemble at DSU and open to all students regardless of their major. The ensemble performs a variety of literature from the Renaissance to the present. The Chorale performs for university functions, community events, annual tours, and concerts. Members of the Chorale find it a wonderful break in the academic day.




Chambers Singers - 2011


Chamber Singers

Chamber Singers is a small select vocal ensemble open to all students by audition. They perform a wide variety of music and perform primarily without accompaniment. Students who participate in this ensemble also participate in Chorale. Chamber Singers meets three times each week.

Musical Theater

The Musical Theater Ensemble explores music for the stage, including both the Broadway and opera repertoires. Students study different styles of singing and work on performance skills. The Musical Theater Ensemble culminates in a concert or production each semester.









Choral Union 2011

Choral Union

Choral Union is open to all students and members of the community. Choral Union maintains a more than fifty-year tradition of performing a portion of Handel’s oratorio, Messiah, in the fall semester. Other major choral works will also be studied. Choral Union meets Mondays from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. during the summer and fall semesters.





Instrumental Ensembles 

The instrumental ensembles consist of the Concert Band, Pep Band, and Clarinet Ensemble. These ensembles are under the direction of Dr. Lorraine Fader and Dr. Jeremy Wohletz.


Concert Band

 Concert Band

  Concert Band is an ensemble of select wind and percussion 
 instrumentalists performing traditional and contemporary literature. 
 The ensemble plays a vital role in campus activities, performing 
 formal concerts in the community and on tour, and for ceremonial occasions. Concert band meets three times a week and is open to all students. 






 Blue Hawk Pep Band

 The Blue Hawks Pep Band’s enthusiasm and energy is an integral part of the atmosphere at football, basketball and volleyball home games, parades and campus events.  The band is open to all students and select community players.  Join us for the music, the camaraderie and the fun of supporting our teams from “the best seats in the house!”







clarinet Clarinet Ensemble

 Clarinet ensemble is a chamber ensemble that performs a wide 
 variety of music. This ensemble has been asked to perform for campus events  such as holiday events and art gallery openings. Clarinet Ensemble rehearses twice a week.
