Residence Halls Network and Internet

Residence Halls Network and Internet

Dickinson State University offers students network connectivity at all campus housing units. These include Delong Hall, Selke Hall, Woods Hall, Main Campus Apartments and North Campus Apartments (Family Housing).

Each computer in the residence halls is required to go through a registration process (NETREG) to permit use of the DSU Network and Internet. This process will be familiar to those who lived in the residence halls during the prior semester.

Please note that one must have a valid and active Dickinson State University E-Mail account to be able to go through the registration process.

Each student must provide their own network patch cable. The cable will connect their computer to the data jack on the wall.  Wireless network connectivity is also available.  Please contact the residence hall assistant for login instructions.

When the user on the residence halls wired network attaches a computer to the network and opens their web browser they will see the following text:

"Before connecting to the DSU network, your computer must be registered by you as the owner. You should have a valid Dickinson State University electronic id (email id) and password to be able to register. If you do not have a valid DSU electronic id and have not taken the quiz to activate your account, please visit to register. Please note that you must use a computer with internet access to visit the above link. You may use one of the computer labs in the lower level of May Hall or in Stoxen Library."

After successfully registering a computer with the a valid DSU email id, the user will be prompted to reboot their system to gain full access to the network and internet.

If you experience any problems during the registration process, please contact Information Technology Services Help Desk at (701) 483-2838.
