Wireless Internet

At this time, Dickinson State University has wireless internet available in the following locations:

  • Delong Hall
  • May Hall
  • Klinefelter Hall
  • Murphy Auditoriums
  • North Campus Apartments
  • Scott Gymnasium
  • Selke Hall
  • Stickney Hall
  • Stoxen Library
  • Strom Center
  • Student Center
  • Weinbergen Hall (Classrooms A & B, and Human Performance Center)
  • Woods Hall

The name of DSU's wireless connection is "DSU".

Note that content on this page may vary slightly depending on different computer models, operating systems, configurations, and service packs. They should be very similar, however, and the following illustration is using Windows 7.

 

Students and Employees:

Authentication to "DSU" wireless requires DSU students and employees to provide their Campus Connection/NDUS Account (PeopleSoft) credentials of username and password to connect to "DSU" wireless. These credentials will be input when the user opens their web browser.

 

Guest Use Procedure:

Each individual that requests access is logged with their name, time and affiliation on a written form.

The guest credentials are provided to the department or office requesting access for their guest(s) from Information Technology Services.

When they or the event is done the account is locked and password changed.

These written logs must be kept for a minimum of 30 days.

Instructions for connecting to the wireless network in the dorms:

To connect to the wireless network in Delong Hall, Selke Hall, Woods Hall, or Main Campus Apartments, look for the SSID DSU_Housing and enter the password provided by your Resident Director or Resident Assistant.

 

Instructions for connecting to the wireless network at DSU:

When initially connecting to a wireless network connection, you will have to manually connect. While in an area with a wireless signal, your computer should detect the wireless signal and a message may pop up in the task bar on the lower right indicating one or more wireless connections have been detected.

Double click the wireless network connection icon in the taskbar (Figure 1).

Students and Employees:

Execute a web browser. Provide your Campus Connection/NDUS Account (PeopleSoft) credentials (username and password) to authenticate to the DSU wireless connection. (Figure 4)
