Technology & Course Requirements

Dickinson State University does not supply computers, internet access or required software programs for students taking online courses. It is the students responsibility to have access to a working computer, internet and the required software to complete their online courses. Following is a list of technical requirements:

If you already have a computer:
NOTE: iPads are consumption devices not creation devices. You must have access to a desktop or laptop to successfully complete your DSU courses.

  • Windows XP Professional service pack 2 operating system
  • 56bps modem
  • Sound card and speakers
  • CD-RW, Zip, DVD-RW or USB mass-storage device
  • 512MB RAM
  • Desktop or Laptop with 800 MHz processor or faster
  • Macintosh OS X 10.3 or newer operating system
  • 56bps modem
