Moments of Excellence

Moments of Excellence is designed to recognize excellence among staff members. DSU employees are encouraged to nominate a staff member they feel has gone above and beyond the call of duty in one or more of the following categories: positive attitude; excellent teamwork; going the extra mile; marvelous motivator; outstanding customer service; loyalty and commitment to the university; innovation and creativity; diligence; or a category of the nominator’s choosing. A committee then chooses from among the nominees to award a deserving individual staff member. The award is given out monthly. Nominations for Moments of Excellence Awards can be made on the Staff Senate web page and are due by the second Tuesday of each month.

Plummer was recognized under the “Positive Attitude” because of her marvelous attitude and dedication to DSU faculty, staff and students. She knows every student in the Ag department by name and is always willing to listen and encourage every person who stops by. She is a true example of a DSU team player. Her high energy is contagious. She is well-rounded in computer programs, databases and assists with photography for the Rodeo Club and other clubs and organizations. Plummer is truly passionate about creating a student centered environment and about all areas of DSU.	Thiel was recognized under the “Diligence” category because of his attention, care and professionalism toward DSU faculty, staff and students. Since technology is so important to the education of students and to the order of operations for offices and departments on campus, the employees in the ITS department are often on the go. Thiel is willing to help no matter how many times a department calls for instructions, or no matter how many times he has to walk across campus to fix a computer connection. His smile and cheerful attitude leave a lasting impact around the DSU campus community.
