General health services are provided to students at Dickinson State University by a licensed registered nurse. Health education and the promotion of healthy college lifestyles serve as the foundation of the Student Health Service program.

Services include: health assessment, screening and monitoring, immunizations, and first aid.

Health Service offers a wide variety of educational programs and services designed to assist you in achieving and maintaining good physical, mental, social, and sexual health.

Medical Care
A local physician serves as medical advisor to the Student Health Service. Referrals are made to local clinics and emergency room physicians for conditions requiring prescription medications and treatment.

Confidentiality
All health records are strictly confidential. No individuals other than Health Service personnel have access to them.

Insurance
Students are strongly encouraged to carry health insurance. Insurance is available through the North Dakota State Institutions System Policy for those students not covered by their parent's insurance. An application was mailed to each student by the company. If your student did not receive an application, one can be obtained from the Student Health Services.

Monday through Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Eligibility
Students who are registered at Dickinson State University may use the services.

Cost
There is no charge for visits to the Student Health Service office. There is a nominal charge for certain vaccinations. The service is supported through student fees.

Excuses
Student Health Services will not provide a student with a written excuse from classes. It is the student's responsibility to arrange an excuse with the instructor.
