“The Dakotah Series,” by Robert Schweiger, will be featured in the DSU Art Gallery, Klinefelter Hall, until Oct. 31. A reception is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the DSU Art Gallery. Refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.

The gallery features monoprint constructions which evolved through recycling and re-experience. Schwieger, a native of Scottsbluff, Neb., has been working as professor of art at Minot State University since 1974. His work is a blend of the real and the abstract, depicting delicate, cloudlike forms, flat color, and images of land and people. Additionally, Schwieger tries to incorporate personal history with symbolism and decorative patterns.

The DSU Art Gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday-Friday. Support for the gallery comes from Dickinson State University, private donations and the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which is funded by the state of North Dakota and the National Endowment for the Arts.
