Caleb Harrison, head women’s basketball coach at Dickinson State University, submitted his letter of resignation and resigned his coaching and teaching duties effective Monday, Sept. 2, 2013. Harrison, a New Zealand native, joined DSU last year on a special visa as head women’s basketball coach and adjunct instructor in the department of health and physical education.

“I regret having to resign my position as head women’s basketball coach at DSU. My reason for leaving is not personal, but comes in response to the expiration of my visa. Although I applied for a change in my visa status in March, due to processing delays by the Immigration and Naturalization Service, approval was not received in time,” said Harrison. “I enjoyed my time at DSU and believe in my team. I wish them a very successful year.”

The athletic department will begin an immediate search for a temporary head woman’s basketball coach and will conduct full search in the spring 2014.

“We would like to thank Caleb for his contributions to the DSU athletic department and to Dickinson State,” said Tim Daniel, DSU director of athletics. “We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
