Dickinson State University is a regional four-year institution within the North Dakota University System, whose primary role is to contribute to intellectual, social, economic and cultural development, especially to Southwestern North Dakota. The University’s mission is to provide high-quality, accessible programs; to promote excellence in teaching and learning; to support scholarly and creative activities; and to provide service relevant to the economy, health, and quality of life for the citizens of the State of North Dakota. 

The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) is a data clearinghouse for the university. The OIR is predominantly responsible for the compilation, analyses, and reporting of institutional data used for strategic planning, grant application, reaccreditation, outcome assessment, enrollment management and other institutional uses. Additionally, the OIR coordinates and analyzes the university’s external surveys, assessments, and exit testing programs.  

The purpose of the OIR web-page is to provide the public with an overview of the institutional data and organizational structure utilized by Dickinson State University to contribute to intellectual, social, economic and cultural development of Southwestern North Dakota and the surrounding areas.
