The Dickinson State University Staff Senate Scholarship was founded in 2007 and is intended to help a student who is a dependent of a DSU staff member pay for books, mandatory fees or any self-supporting programs while pursuing an education at DSU. This scholarship will be in addition to the DSU Employee Spouse and Dependent Tuition Waiver Request which covers only tuition.

Amount of scholarship: To be determined
Scholarship criteria:
- Be a child of a benefited staff member
- Be a returning student with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or an incoming student with a GPA of 2.5
- Must be a full-time student in good standing
- Show good moral character
- Cannot receive for 2 consecutive years
Selection process:
The selection committee will consist of one outgoing Staff Senate member from each broadband. The members will be chosen by the president of Staff Senate and their involvement on the committee will only be known to themselves and the president of Staff Senate.
The selection committee will work with the Office of Student Development and the Office of Alumni and Foundation to develop the list of candidates. The Office of Alumni and Foundation will rank the top three candidates for the Staff Senate selection committee to choose from. The Office of Alumni and Development will track the scholarship recipients to avoid duplicity of awards.
First scholarship will be awarded: Spring 2009
